This day was very much inspired by really focusing on the anxiety and assessing whether or not it was real, what the implications of it were, and what I could do about it. It was a beautiful and fun day, and we’ll see what the next two weeks holds. If Italy is any indication, we’re in for a ride.
The NYT part was a bonus. We wanted a chill wedding — just head to city hall and get hitched. Dana’s sister mentioned our story to her friends at the Times, and it coincided with this story they were putting together about people who’s lives were effected by the virus. We seemed to have fit the bill. They sent out a photographer, did a phone interview, and followed up. We thought at best we’d get a sentence or a blurb in the middle of long article, and then they stuck us on the cover. Go figure.
